From Factory to Field-Key Manufacturing Processes and Quality Control for Pre-Wired MMO Tubular Anodes
While the pre-wired MMO tubular anode may appear to have a simple structure, its manufacturing process involves several critical steps. Each stage directly impacts the product's reliability and service life in the field. The current steady production capacity reflects a manufacturing system that consistently maintains high quality.
The selection of the base material is the first step. The tubing is typically made of commercially pure titanium, which must have a consistent chemical composition, uniform wall thickness, and pass rigorous non-destructive testing to ensure it is free of defects such as pinholes or cracks.

The preparation of the coating is the core technology. The mixed metal oxide is applied through a thermal decomposition process, involving multiple coating and high-temperature sintering cycles. This creates a dense, uniform catalytic layer. This layer not only determines the anode's electrochemical activity but also directly influences its consumption rate in the operating medium. Poor coating adhesion or localized porosity can lead to premature failure during long-term operation.
Cable connection and sealing is another key focus for quality control. The connection between the anode and the cable must be made by welding, ensuring the contact resistance is minimized. The connection point is then sealed using multiple layers of heat-shrink tubing or injection molding, followed by rigorous voltage and insulation performance tests. On the factory floor, workers often follow the strictest process controls for this step-from inspecting the weld to monitoring the curing time of the sealant-with clear operational specifications and records for each stage.
Before leaving the factory, every batch of products also undergoes electrochemical performance testing. This includes accelerated life tests in simulated media and verification of current output stability. It is through these standardized operations, carried out in an orderly manner on the factory floor, that the reliability and longevity of the delivered products in complex field environments are ensured.
